Damien Gilley an american multi-disciplinary artist reconfigures the built environments to provide a viewing experience that alters space . By combining digital neo-futurism, non-euclidian geometry, data visualisation and computer graphics. His works challenges the reliability of perception through the illusionistic of wall drawings and sculptural approaches.
Gilley is influenced by Euclids seminal prints, vintage computer graphics, techno structures and science fiction.
Euclids seminal prints
Euclid of Alexandria a greek mathematician often known as the father of geometry. His elements is one of the most influential works in the history of mathematics. Used as the basis of math textbooks especially for geometry, from the late 19th to the early 20th century.
Vintage computer graphics
Vintage computer graphics was the pinnacle of 3D animation and computer graphic design in 1976. Exploration of movement and constructs of buildings, ship and environmental layout designs etc. A major advance in perception of our environments and how we can alter these freely.
