Moving images (Rebecca Hobbs) Research: Still films

"Look at life" by George Lucas, 1965 (Still film)

A still film by George Lucas 1965, film student "Look at life" working solely with still photos, very effective and powerful in my opinion.

I have an idea working with stills as my foundation for my film, incorporating certain camera moving techniques as well (e.g. Whip pan movement, extreme close up and extreme wide shots).

STILL FILMS

The link above is exclusively based on "still films". Ranging from different categories of film styles (e.g. Art films, animation, docs etc). I found a animated still film called "we the masses" immensely fascinating. I was thinking in the lines of doing a remix of still life shots and animated.

  1. The interview clip is with George Lucas, the original guy who directed Star Wars, THX1138, Indiana Jones, etc. There is a really famous film by Chris Marker, called lLa Jetee that uses just stills.

    1. Thank you for correcting me. Yeah I actually watched a snippet of ILa Jetee, on this website based only on still films. Here is the link http://nofilmschool.com/2013/12/if-youre-making-films-with-still-images-here-are-a-few-things-to-consider/ I was just wondering if this a good source for me to gather information from? it seems legit.
