Ideas and Responses (Rebecca Hobbs) Research: Perception and illusion

The Matrix Meeting of Morpheus Scene

Studying this scene from the matrix, directed by Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski. There are many aspects in this clip I resonated with for example Morpheus states, "the matrix is everywhere" "it is the world that has been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth" Neo replies "what truth". And the offering of the two pills proceeds.

I feel this relates to my ideas about perception and illusion. what is truth what is reality? that notion
of two worlds.

TED Talks: Beau lotto: Optical illusions show how we see

Interesting information on perception, highlights what we can't normally see. He talks about the evolution of visual inspection and how our senses, our mind creates illusions.

The state of illusion

A youtube video "the state of illusion" by Dr. Michael Vandermark.
This clip conveys visual images of buildings that look like prison walls, landscape, sky and of people who seem trapped. Another form of illusion 'psychological' distraught. The illusion of creating a prison from within, dictating how everything is perceived. I think I could use this material in some way to do with life experiences etc.
