Lens Class (Rebecca Hobbs) Experimentations/process: 5

My experiments are based on the idea of our body being a canvas. Painting the body, face all white and applying a mixture of colored paints. Which symbolises the many influences or the scope of another person perception of me. I was captivated by "Schindler's List" a film in black and white with a hint of color (red) depicted on a little child's coat. Signifying the atrocities through that time in history. Exploiting that idea of black and white and color within my own context.

The process was to paint my little brother
(George) all white as a canvas. Then I applied
a stroke of yellow and red, which he identified
"that is mum and dad", continuing on to say
"that is my first form of contact and influence"

From here I just added more paint strokes with purpose and meaning to my subject  (George). I then upload the final image on to photoshop, duplicated the image then changed the duplicate to black and white and erased the grey areas on his face for the strokes of color to show through.
